Device Linking with Gateway

Add an HPzenAi device to a registered gateway so it can be monitored and controlled from the app.

What You'll Need​

Steps​

  • A gateway already registered in your account — see Gateway Registration.
  • The device (motor controller, level sensor, relay controller, etc.) physically wired to the gateway RS485 bus and powered on.
  • HPzenAi app installed and logged in.

Open the HPzenAi app and tap the gateway tile you want to add the device to

Device Not Found in Scan​

Steps​

  • Confirm the device is powered on and the RS485 A and B wires are connected to the gateway.
  • Check RS485 polarity — if the device is not detected, swap the A and B wires at the device end and scan again.
  • Confirm each device on the RS485 bus has a unique Modbus address — duplicate addresses cause devices to not appear in scans.
  • Only devices physically wired to the gateway's RS485 bus will appear in the scan results.
