What is an HPzenAi IoT Gateway?
The HPzenAi IoT Gateway is the central hub of your smart monitoring network. It bridges your field devices — water meters, level sensors, relay controllers, and motor starters — to the HPzenAi cloud platform and mobile app. Using RS485 Modbus RTU on the wired side and Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, SIM, or RF on the cloud side, the gateway continuously collects readings, forwards them securely to the HPzenAi platform, and relays remote commands back to connected devices.
Multi-Protocol Communication
RS485 Modbus RTU, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, BLE 5.0, nano-SIM cellular, and 433/915 MHz RF in a single device
Up to 32 Field Devices
Support up to 32 RS485 devices per bus — water meters, level sensors, relay controllers, and more
DIN Rail Mounted, IP54
Standard 35 mm DIN rail mount, compact enclosure rated IP54 for panel and outdoor cabinet installations
Real-Time Alerts & Cloud Sync
Live data on the HPzenAi app, push notifications, and 24-hour local data buffering during connectivity outages
Product Description
HPzenAi gateways are industrial IoT edge devices designed for reliable, long-term deployment in utility, agricultural, and building automation environments. Each gateway combines a wired RS485 Modbus RTU bus interface with one or more wireless uplinks to the HPzenAi cloud, providing secure encrypted data transmission and remote device management.

Applications & Use Cases
HPzenAi gateways are deployed wherever field devices must be monitored and controlled remotely. Choose the gateway model based on the available uplink infrastructure at your site.
| Application | Description |
|---|---|
| Smart Water Metering | Aggregate readings from multiple RS485 water meters in a building or campus and deliver data to the HPzenAi dashboard for billing and consumption analysis |
| Tank Level Monitoring | Monitor overhead tanks, sumps, and underground reservoirs using level sensors connected over the RS485 bus, with automatic pump control via relay outputs |
| Remote Agricultural Sites | Use GW-1 or GW-2 with SIM fallback for farms and irrigation networks where broadband is unavailable — data is always delivered via cellular |
| Industrial Facilities | DIN rail installation inside control panels for process water, HVAC, and building services metering in factories and warehouses |
| Apartment & Housing Estates | Sub-metering networks with up to 32 meters per gateway — ideal for residential complexes and managed properties |
| Government & Utility | Robust utility-grade data collection from distribution points, pumping stations, and municipality supply connections |
| Borewell & Groundwater | Level sensors on deep borewells connected to the gateway enable remote depth monitoring and pump dry-run protection |
| RF Mesh for Open Areas | GW-1/GW-3 with 433/915 MHz RF bridges wireless field devices over distances up to 1.5 km, avoiding expensive cable trenching |
Available Models
All models include RS485, Wi-Fi, and BLE. SIM and RF support vary by model — choose based on your site's connectivity requirements.
