What is an HPzenAi Smart Tag?
HPzenAi Smart Tags are E-Ink NFC-enabled display tags that update wirelessly by tapping an NFC-enabled smartphone running the HPzenAi app. The E-Ink display is bistable — it retains the displayed image indefinitely without any power draw. Battery-free models harvest energy directly from the NFC field of the updating smartphone, requiring no battery, no charging, and no wiring. The rechargeable billboard model uses a built-in 3.7V LiPo battery to drive a larger display refresh.

HPzenAi Smart Tags use E-Ink (electronic ink) display technology that renders sharp, paper-like images visible in any lighting condition including direct sunlight. Updates are delivered via NFC from the HPzenAi app — the phone's NFC field provides both the data and the energy needed to refresh the display on battery-free models. The rechargeable billboard model (HPZ-ST-BILLBOARD-DISPLAY-1) uses a built-in LiPo battery to power its larger display and has an extended NFC range of up to 10 cm.
